Alternative Controller for Xbox

Thanks for your reply!

if you are serious about fighting games
if you play them casually and arent too concerned with being competitive or putting a lot of time into the game

I fall into that shadowy category somewhere in the middle, I guess :) In fact, used to be a competitive player back in SCIII age, when I had much more time and energy to invest in the process. Now it's more of a nostalgia thing. Moreover, XBL is definitely not a place to get back to form, though I do have a couple of (ex-)competitive friends offline.

Now, concerning the arcade stick: can you make a specific suggestion, perhaps (manufacturer/model)?

i will always toggle for the 2p slot when playing sophie or cass' , hence youre 236's will be easier.

It's a bit unfair, though, isn't it? :)

Well, if you really want to invest on a arcade stick. A hori is a good choice (others may disagree though) but if you insist on a pad, you could use the MadCatz Street Fighter 4 FightPad. It's good for fighting games. I use it for fighting games when I'm too lazy to setup the stick.

It depends on style. All peripherals have different advantages. Xbox is generally bad for githers because of the horrid dPad, but the analog can be far superior to PS3 which can help with some moves like Ivy;s throws. However the PS3 controller is generally just good. It may not be the best, but the thing is just damned practical. I prefer stick honestly.

Solutions:

Stick: SF4 TE's are nice if you can pony up the cash (I don't like the SE at all). You can also buy a crap ass one and buy new buttons and joy stick.

Controller: Get a PS1-3 controller and look for an xbox360 adaptor.

As for a controller on the xbox...you're stuck looking for any brand attempting to imitate the the PS controller and then you suffer low quality crap usually. Though the SF4 pads MAY be good, i dunno. Don't know the quality since the SE and TE stick are so different to me.

Sticks are generally the best answer, but SC can easily be played well on PS pads. Nearly all Hildes (even stick players) use pad. Malek uses a fricken PS1 1/ converter...and iCS's with the fuckin dpad! WTF!

Thanks a lot. I was totally unaware of the latter possibility. I'll definitely look for an adaptor.

No doubt. That's what I've been doing in SCII & III days.
