Bah... equipment came in, but they have some logistical problems... The mixer has USB, but it doesn't differentiate the streams, so really the USB is completely useless; may as well return it and get a $50 mixer that does the same thing, but doesnt have USB. And the MXL-990s aren't balanced at all, so they pick up EVERYTHING... they would be great as boom mics, but if you are handling call-ins through skype or talkshoe, they cause massive feedback...

So I'm returning the equipment and instead I will pick up some decent plantronics noice cancelling headsets.
 
The new equipment just came today... I went through 2 behringer mixers before realising... THEY SUCK! AVOID BEHRINGER AT ALL COSTS!

I spent the extra money and got a YAMAHA... and this new mixer is AWESOME. I already tested it, and it works great. It also has phono RCA pins so we can pipe game audio in, and it has a compression algorithm so we can get clear vocals without too much static interference.

Now that the equipment is in place... we'll be working on the logistics of the actual show soon.
