8WayRun.Com Digital Podcast?

I told Hacker last week that we were doing this on Thursday; I also told Bibulus a few days ago. I figured I would tell you today, since you were coming over anyways. NeoOutlaw and I have been thinking about doing a podcast for several months now, we just never got around to doing it. None of the topics we are doing tonight are Bibulus' ideas; I told him that if he didn't like the way I do it, he could always do a podcast himself. I'm doing an 8WayRun podcast, not a Kogarasumaru podcast.

It's like that?

Having some of the people you actually mingle with from 8way run be in on the planning and execution, especially when they were the ones who were ready to get moving on the project, is preferable to undercutting them and causing needless headaches and irritation.

It wouldn't have cost you anything to let us in on what you were getting ready to do.
This doesn't bother me at all, I wasn't even part of the Podcast to begin with, but I feel for Tim right now.

But apparently this isn't the Kogarasu podcast, or even the 8wayrun podcast;
it's the Jaxel podcast.

-East Coast SC4. "It's like that."

I think you missed what I said in the chatroom... but the way I was planning on doing it, so that we can keep up without running out of topics each week, was to alternate between news and general gaming topics, and then SC4 stuff with Tim.

So one week, like the first week, I would want to talk about Broken Destiny and World Cyber Games. Then the next week, Tim can interview some player and talk more in-depth SC4 stuff. If you do nothing but in-depth technical SC4 stuff each week, it will get boring very fast. So I was hoping this way we could keep things interesting by mixing it up between episodes.

I wanted to do the first episode as a round table discussion because I didn't want it to be so technical straight from the start.

We're postponing the first episode of the podcast. Right now we are relying on Whitey's equipment, which means some people can't make it to the show since they have conflicting schedules. So Tim and I were going over equipment choices yesterday and we decided would would have two different sets of equipment. He elected for some USB stuff for when he goes across the country for tournaments; this way he can simply plug and play and do interviews with people around the country. I don't know the prices on what he's picked out, hopefully he'll make a post here soon showing what he's interested in.

For in studio here in NJ, I've selected a different set of equipment. Instead of the software solution which would work best for Tim, I plan on going with a hardware solution; this way we'll be able to plug it directly into my distrobution amplifier and be able to get the famous "match chatter" that happens during my monthly tournaments. Of course, my method will be a bit more expensive, so thats why I'm hoping for some donations to pay for it.

For the pre-amp, I am hoping to get a Behringer 1204 Mixer. I know that Behringer isn't that good, but I think their equipment will be more than well suited for our needs. Plus, its the cheapest pre-amp I could find that can mix 4 XLR microphones at about $130.

For the microphones, I am also sticking with Behringer since they are the cheapest, and better than what you can find out radioshack. I selected these microphones because they have built in pop-filters. These run at $20 each and we need 4, so $80.

Plus of course, miscellanous cables for these mics, as well as stands for these mics would probably tack on another $80.

So right now, I'm looking for around $300 in donations to get this all started.

These donations would be SEPERATE from the premium membership stuff; that goes directly to paying for the hosting of this site.

Holy crap! InsaneKhent just donated $150 towards the cause! That means we're close to taking over the... err... starting a podcast!
