In SCV, I'm starting to think it's between Alpha 2363B and Omega DNS B (though in theory Calibur, JFT is retardedly good because of the damage you get from an i12 punisher)
The number of situations in which it becomes the best option, or fear of its use forces your opponent to change their game is great. DNS is a go-to TC, and the tracking is nice. Not to mention the i15 punisher and backstep catcher.
I convinced myself for a long time that DNS B wasn't even top 10, but I've been changing my mind recently.I guess the MU dictates whether or not it's the best move ever :P
Cervy's iGDR in SC1 had the speed of Alpha's CE. It could punish anything for 100dmg and there was no way to block it even if your character was standing on the other side of the screen. Your only hope was to block all day or side step (in hope that Cervy will self-RO himself on smaller stages)
You have cervy's aB in that list which is -18 and can technically get you launcher punished but you think DNS B is not that good even though it kills in 3 hits and is practically safe against most of the cast because of pushback? Ixhizy...
Wow, I seemed to have sparked a conversation. Lol, this isn't too different from the thread I did on the top spam moves. The difference, however, is in how many situations the move can be good.
aB may be faster than JFT but it doesn't have the same range or damage. I think the double JFT damage from i12 makes it one of the best moves in Theory Calibur.
Alpha's CE is stupid good too, it's only disadvantage is the meter it requires.
And Alpha's 100 dmg throw mix up. Can we just pretend Alpha counts as a "move" and agree that he has the most utility? :P
DNS B is hardly used as a punisher, it's good for backstep and stuff but it fails at sidestep and you must be really stupid to get punished by an i15 that can be even slower if the player doesn't get the 236236 in the window frame. An i11 punisher on the other hand... well, i'm not saying omega's DNS B is bad because it's not, it's actually the reason i'm using omega, but I find Cervantes' aB ridiculously good.
It's hard to compare these moves. Cervy's aB is safer but as a punisher it has limited range plus it's a high move (the mid part is slower) and cannot be used from crouching. When it's spaced correctly it's stupid good against characters that can't punish it, it covers a lot of options (i11 interrupt + antistep)
