Do You Believe In The Flying Spaghetti Monster
I'm a Christian. The issue with the arguments coming from those who believe in God is that most of the time it is uneducated. (People take the pastors word at face value)
Looking into the origional language (Hebrew) of the Creation account would give leway to believe that the world is indeed billions of years old.
I got into debates over the whole Creation v Evolution only to find that both sides are flawed in thier thinking. Somebody wants to dream up flying spagetti monster to simply shut Creationists up. But sure...for the sake of my own arguments, I believe in the flying spagetti monster, theres no reason to currently not to.
Creationist immediatly rule out evolution because evolution is presented as an alternative to God. However the realization I came to is that evolution say nothing in the way of what a deity may or may not be. There is no way the Devine can be looked at throught the eyes of a science which has only ever looked into the natural order of things.
Evolution has its merrits. It is good, sound, science. There is absolutly no reason the think that some sort of divine creator didn't use evolution to bring life to this planet.
The math is not there for us getting here on our own. There are so many factors that had to be in place for us to get to where we are today. Any kind of change one way or another would have left our planet lifeless. How we are here is a miracle in and of itself.
I cannot believe that evolution is one big lie or attack on a Christian God. It would be stupid to think of it that way. At the same time, I cannot deny the possible exsistence of God. I have tried to look at the arguments. I have attempted to tell myself that there is no God. I really really have. But I cant draw that conclusion thinking scientificly. Ther is no evidence or to support that God does not exsist.
But allow me for a moment to say, I like these forums. Can we please not get into this. Zaibatsu took a turn for the worst because of this crap. These argument are dead end argument and does nothing to promote any kind of rational thought. Any body who argues from either side of the isle on this one is meerly opinionated and stubborn.
So please, someone lock this.
