Underrated games

To anyone looking to get infinite undiscovery, it's kind of a chore... the combat is fun, but you get so little of it. There's a bunch of tiny, tedious tasks you have to go through, im about six hours in and don't really want to finish it..

ITT: People who think MGS is underground.

Anyway: this generation has TONS of great games... that no one knows about. Here's a few (WARNING: INCOMING WALL OF TEXT):
  • Vanquish (360/PS3): Hands down best third person shooter of the generation. Seriously, just go play it. Now. It's like ten bucks on Gamestop.
  • Spec Ops: The Line (360/PS3): The only thing this game has in common with the others in its series is the name; this game is fucking brilliant. At first it may seem like a generic post-MW2 shooter, but there's a lot going on that you don't get anywhere else. I don't want to spoil anything, but this is one of the few genuinely mature games out there.
  • Journey (PS3): If a game can be called a piece of art, it's this one. Albeit not for everyone, Journey is one of the deepest, most well designed games ever made.
  • Mirror's Edge (PS3/360): Not sure if you can call this game underrated, but it definitely deserves a lot more attention. If you haven't played it already, you owe it to yourself.
  • Mad World (Wii): Now, you probably didn't expect a Wii game on this list, did ya? Well this is no average Wii game... literally just black and red, this game almost feels like it was designed by a 13 year old after playing too much Mortal Kombat... and it's glorious.
  • Anarchy Reigns (PS3/360): A sequel to Mad World, it introduces multiplayer and retains most of the gameplay elements that made the original good. Though it lacks the one thing that made MW so great: its art style.
  • El Shaddai (360/PS3): Great DMC-style game. There's literally nothing bad about this game I can think of. Bonus points you you actually know what El Shaddai is Kappa
  • Prince of Persia (2008 reboot, 360/PS3): For some reason a lot of people don't like it, but I loved it.
  • Brutal Legend (PS3/360): This is a heavy metal fairy tale. If that alone didn't sell you, I don't know what the fuck will.
  • Assault on Dark Athena (PS3/360): What do you get when you mix stealth and first person shooters? Space Marine Vin Diesel, apparently.
  • Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 (360/PS3): The story is confusing if you're not into the anime, but it's is a great game nonetheless.
  • Naruto - Rise of the Ninja (360): Again, you'll probably dislike this if you dislike the anime, but it's a phenomenal anime game.
  • Saint Seiya - Brave Soldiers (PS3): Starting to see the pattern ;)? I might be biased because I fucking love Saint Seiya, but this is a MUST HAVE for any anime fans with a PS3. I believe it's a PSN exclusive here in the States, but you can probably import it from Brazil or the UK if you want it in pyshical format. (along with the prequel).
  • Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3/360): This is the type of game you'd probably want to play on PC, but it's pretty great no matter how you play it.
  • Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii): Aha! Another Wii game! This is my personal favorite game for the Wii, and by far the best fighter on the system. Classic controller is obviously recommended, Gamecube pad is best.
EDIT: Not sure if Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Nier, or No More Heroes count for this list, but yeah, go play them too.

Now we can't forget the classics people. I'm talking SNES classics. For example:

Secret of Evermore: Probably one of the most underrated games since a lot of people I have talked to didn't really like it and/or thought it was a knock off of Secret of Mana.

Bahamut Lagoon: It's a bit of a tactic game with some RPG elements to it. Great fun, but hard to find a good emulator that's been translated.

The 7th Saga: This is one of my all time favorite RPGs. Choose your character, go through a very neat world, find an ally, and learn the secrets of the runes all while fighting some pretty neat bosses along the way.
