I read 30 at the moment. My favourites are Girl Genius, Homestuck, Goblins and Gunnerkrigg Court.
Gay ones I read are Tea House, Tripping Over You, Purpurea Noxa, Boned and The Young Protectors. That last one is really cringe and the writing is so contrived, but for some reason I keep coming back for the updates. Artifice by the same author - now finished - was a little better but still not especially impressive, particularly for a comic advertising itself as being "smart guy-on-guy sci-fi". I would guess it's the art as it's consistently impressive in both stories, but the guys are kind of too beefy for my tastes, so I'm baffled.
There are loads more that I've tried and found not to my liking (Cyanide and Happiness, Sister Claire); some I read that have now finished (8-Bit Theatre, Daisy Owl); and many that I read for a long time but later abandoned (Khaos Komix - another gay one, really went downhill; Ctrl+Alt+Del - absolutely terrible, embarrassed that I read it for so long).

As for webcomics, Order Of The Stick is my current love, though I also stumbled upon one called Thaumaturge which is kinda cool.
