sup guys.

Welcome to 8WR!
I'm also fairly new to SCV (and fighting games in general, lol) , so if you want to run some sets on XBL, FR me!

i have a playstation, unfortunately. also i do not own a copy of the game, i have been playing at my second home, so it is unfortunately not as accessible as i would like.

A.Pat is the de-facto best character in the game if one can obtain a level of mastery. Superior damage, punishment, etc. You certainly picked a hard road to start on, but good luck.

As with anything, remember: You can only get as good as your best competition.

This man, DrakeAldan has put in some WORK making some of the finest articles about learning the game. Check em out: http://calibur.8wayrun.com/threads/the-basics-of-soulcalibur.15258/

Also, don't play Lizardman, he's awful and he smells funny. =)

i have already been looking at DrakeAldan's articles, they are quite lovely.
and as far as 'best competition' i am lucky that i have a group that does tournaments (one of them more than the others) i think i have a very nice learning environment.

Welcome to 8wr! Don't let these silly ones influence your pick! Pick who you like playing and learn them as best as you can :D! If you need any help around here feel free to ask. And again, welcome!

i have not let anyone influence my choice. i made sure to choose my character before getting on the internet to talk about it. :)

&thanks for the welcomes everyone.

I'm sure if you do have a good execution with Alpha you can use about any character in the game, just going to need adapt your play style.
By the way, you don't need to use Aeon everyone know that if you are going to use a warrior of the Gods it need have blonde hair and be the most hated for the DAS....anyway...
