Not to bitch about a video game, no.

hey its pretty common and if you love something you will voice it just natural. For you it may not be games but there would be something that would get to you.

Like i posted earlier i didnt like the game at all and to me the combat had that DMC 2 feel to it which hurts cause I thought capcom wouldnt dare go back to DMC 2 xD but they handed the game to ninja theory and now... we going to get a mediocre DMC. Sad too but then again people will always have different opinions just i wouldnt bash you for liking this game lol.

I like to think of this game like the movie 'I, Robot'.

It's a fun, mindless sort of thing, but why did they call it that? It's nothing like the book.

Well, y'know, swapping the 'book' for 'game'.

Also, I read it all, Donutman, and frankly, I think you have stones for immediately calling those of us who are actually waiting for this game ignorant. You really don't think that WE KNOW ALL OF THE SHIT THIS GAME HAS GONE THROUGH?!
Maybe you should read my post again then, as I was only calling those who would ignore that post of mine ignorant, not those who were waiting for the game.

"So yeah everything about this is shit. Now you can all be ignorant and either go "LOL FANBOY" or "STFU U MAIN DEE JAY" and not read any of this and i will simply place you under ignore since you just disregarded all of this"
Exact words of mine
And just because you knew about what this game went through, doesn't mean others do. I wasn't sure if everyone here knew about it, so I put those there. Sorry if thinking ahead is illegal on forums these days
By the way, nice going, using a first-year title as a basis for comparison, and claiming it to be their last game (Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, released 2010). Check your facts again, bro.
.
And that makes every difference in the world right? That still doesn't change any of ninja theory's track record of not being able to do basic things correctly and I still don't trust them to do any game right to this day and this game proves it further.
Now I will admit to not having played the demo, seeing as I'm not on PS+, but I will try the demo next week and see if it is truly the shit-stain you and many others claim it is. Until then, don't insult me.
nobody was insulting you.

Nope, not gonna win me over with that ish. I specifically said video game.

Not to mention, if you're taking a defensive stance that's borderline insulting against anyone who doesn't agree you in your first couple of words then you probably need to chill out and relax then really think about what you're saying.

Whatever though, don't mind me. Carry on with this session, please.[/quote]

I'm gonna set my opinion of the demo into two different parts.

Gameplay-

I rather enjoyed the combat system, definitely improves the old styles by miles. The lock-on (or lack thereof since I couldn't figure out how it worked) was a point against it but being able to switch between weapons at all times with different buttons rather than just toggling between which weapon you had equipped was a plus in my opinion. Also the weapons themselves felt great to me, scythe for crowds and axe for heavy hits and a little of the basic sword in between, and seemed well balanced for their particular roles. I also liked the grappling when used in combat. The platforming aspect of the grappling seemed a bit gimmicky and unnecessary but it still kinda worked, simply hitting the grapple button in the appropriate area and having the right one come out based on which point you had targeted would have done the same thing and made it less cumbersome imo. Still it does its job and it works so not a huge problem. I personally thought the boss fight was rather fun so I don't know what all the complaints were there.

Style and Story-

Alright this is where the game craps a brick. I hate the new Dante just like everyone else. Vergil seems kinda cool, not as awesome as the original badass/smug-asshole version that the original was but still better off than his pissed-off twin. Haven't seen enough of the girl to form an opinion on her yet. The limbo idea is pretty neat, if it were in the original storyline/universe/whatever then I don't think it would fit but it works pretty well here, but that brings me to the main problem I have with the story-

The revolution crap.

I don't like the idea of being in modern day with Dante being this behind-the-scenes hero that the public believes is a terrorist thanks to the bad guys controlling society. We have Assassin's Creed for that. (yes I'm stretching a little) The original universe Dante was this superhero type guy that just kicked a lot of ass and left everyone around him in awe. This whole "everyone hates me but I gotta do it for their own good (or maybe just because he wants to kill Mundus really bad and doesn't care, need to see more of the story to say for sure) thing doesn't fit the whole idea of DMC.

Overall I gotta say that I agree with Xemuht in that it would have been a solid gold game if they had made it a new IP instead of making it a DMC reboot. The gameplay itself is fun but I just don't like the characters so far compared to what the original series had. Maybe (unlikely but a guy can hope) they will make it a seperate series from the originals and continue both separately, doing it with the current team working on this version and getting either the old or another team to work on the original timeline kinda the way Treyarch and Infinity Ward trade-off Call of Duty games. (Only no annual releases, that would be the final nail in the coffin right there)
