The NEW Two and a Half Men (previous or current fans only)

I wanted to know what the consensus was for 8wayrun about the new Two and a Half Men season starring Ashton Kutcher. Even people who don't really keep up with E-gossip, most of you would have some basic understanding of the controversy caused by Charlie Sheen's departure from the show. There's been a lot of nostalgic debate about how Ashton Kutcher has ruined the show and that it's really nothing anymore without the Charlie Harper character to which it was built around.

I personally think that the show is still as good as it was even without its true leading man. The writers put a lot of effort in keeping it alive and are doing a ballsy thing continuing it rather than giving it up just because of a minor set back. The Charlie Harper age was about a mysoginist and his immoral lifestyle, while the new Walden Schmidt age is about some hopeless romantic dork who just so happens to be a billionaire and a super hottie who still can't land true love--and so the show has definitely changed drastically, but why resist change? Can one version be objectively better than the other without having to consider too much into the fact that Charlie Harper seasons in quantity outweigh the Walden Schmidt's singular season as well as familiarity?

What are your thoughts?

Also, for those who never even liked the show to begin with...yeah don't bother. This thread ain't for you. This thread are for those who used to like it until Charlie Sheen left AND obviously for the people who have continued watching it ever since.

I like both, at first i thought it's probably going to suck because i'm actually not a huge fan of kutcher, and i thought replacing charlie would be awkward.
But i'm positively surprised how well he fits in and how they deal with charlies departure.
They could show Berta more often though, she's brilliant :D

Berta is my dream woman. Strong women like that are fuckin hawt!!

I to was not happy at first with kutcher. The only thing i liked him in was "That 70's show". Other than that i cant stand the guy (get away from my Demi u jackwagon!"

But i gotta say the show is not impossible to watch. It still has that og feel to it with some new flavor. There is still no shortage of hot chicks. I prefer the older shows. But these new ones are not bad.

I have never liked the show much because it's 90% awkwardly delivered sex jokes. That said I saw the first new episode where in he dissed The Zune, which I think Jaxel will back me up here, was the far superior product and service. So I see no reason to commence watching in the future unless the show suddenly got clever writers. And isn't the kid like a full grown man now? Is it still only half because he's only there half the time?

To tell the truth though how much has the show changed? I never liked Sheen's character, I found him impossible to like. Would I like the show now?

It's called Two and a Half Men not because of the youngster, but because Alan if half a man who fails to learn how to main up from two other full men. His own son and Charlie/Walden now.

Sheen's character was a jingle writer, boozehound mysoginist whos character only seems redeemable because he believes in himself to be alright.

Asthon's character is an internet billionaire who is a generous manboy who unfortunately can't hold a relationship together either (prevailing theme of the show itself I guess). I haven't watched enough of his season to really know him more, but he seems to be like a lead character reversal that somehow fits with the natural progression of the show.
