Scarface: Three hours of Pacino screaming the word 'fuck' as many times as he can really didn't do it for me.
Tarantino: I typically enjoy mindless entertainment, but Tarantino's complete failure to comprehend subtlety leaves me wishing I'd spent the time doing anything other than watching one of his movies. No, it's not just the failed comedy with the crazy amount of blood in Kill Bill, it's *EVERYTHING*. The only bit of subtlety the man tries to slip into films are...really, really sad.
Avatar: Oh sure, it's a solid movie. But it's ridiculously overrated.
Categories/genres as a whole: Like I said, I enjoy mindless entertainment(I would have nevr played Dienasty Warriors if that weren't the case), but all the categories/genres I listed are just...bad. Predictable, poorly paced, bad music, bad acting, but editing...just shameful moneygrubbing on the part of whoever commissioned these.
Lifetime: I think
someone else explained it much better than I can. If you like any of these movies, you are an obese middle-aged white woman that believes the world revolves around you and constantly seek only things appealing to your cognitive biases instead of actually thinking---it would defy the laws of physics for any other kind of person to enjoy these.
Jeepers Creepers: I thought this was just plain good honestly. The creature is wonderfully unsubtle(toldja I like mindless entertainment!), the characters behave realistically, the pacing is solid, it's just an all-round good movie flick in my opinion. Oh, and the creature. Yeah, it's pretty damn scary as far as horror flick creatures go. Find an excuse to see this decade old movie if you haven't.
28 Days Later: Even before this I was officially sick of zombie flicks, but this is pretty damn good honestly. The sequel isn't too shabby either. The OST is also...kind of depressing. John Murphy's only good work is all based on some long-dead Canadian space-rock band's song(the theme for the movies) and he doesn't even vary that.
Hans Zimmer: Now here's a guy who only gets better with time. In the nineties, everything he did was the epitome of mediocrity. Nowadays, everything he does is crazy epic.
Tron Legacy: The OST for this provided by Daft Punk is actually pretty good. Just about worth watching the thing for.
