That's eurocentrism. If it weren't for Islam the world as we know it wouldn't exist, the renaissance would have never happened, and we (western civilization) probably would have never found America. Not to mention that India and the middle east created very complex algebra around the year 900 and paved the way for calculus. The Church sucking as a ruling institution doesn't mean that all religions are bad for us."when religion ruled, they called it the Dark Ages".
Christianity is a religion, but not all religions are like Christianity. Why is that so hard for people to grasp?
