I think you missed my point, though. As long as belief is a failure of logic, believing that something is true is no more or less an error than believing something is false. It's a failure of logic either way you go because when you really, *REALLY* break it down belief is nothing more than confirmation bias. Makes sense, right?
I think the reason belief is such a touchy issue is because of it being a based on a bias. And yeah, like I said I don't think we could actually survive without these biases but at the same time wouldn't it be better to recognize it? I don't think it's feasible to overcome all bias(at least that's what I'm telling myself), but if we can be open-minded enough to not let bias lead us into conflict over belief things should be better right?
Then, what's it really matter anyways? At the end of the day, people are just people. As long as they're not being a dick about it or running around killing people in the name of their beliefs, what difference does it really matter what they believe? You think you're just as right as I or anyone else does. Your beliefs aren't better than anyone else's, you just believe they are like everyone else since belief itself is a failure of logic.
Oh, and just for fun: analogy time! Pushing for atheism as being 'more correct' than anything else is the same as proselytisers for religion. Don't you think Jehovah's Witnesses and all those other door-to-door religion 'salesmen' are very tacky things? You're pretty much doing the same thing here. And chances are, just like Jehovah's Witnesses, no one's going to be buying what you're selling.
