Where we all should be: Not using sexual orientation as a way of describing people.
This issue reminds me of racism. People keep trying to feed schoolbooks and TV shows with "equality" by actually labeling people, looking something like: "Hey kids, look at these guys. One is black and the other is white, and they get along!". They want future generations to stop labeling people by race, and they try to accomplish that BY LABELING PEOPLE BY RACE. It's retarded, it pisses me off.
I think we should all drop this bullshit and just act normally. Schools like Harvard and MIT claim that they keep their campuses "diverse". What this means is that out of three students with a 4.0 GPA, two of which have higher SAT scores that the third one, the one with the low scores may actually have more chances of getting in, because he is Black/Asian/Hispanic/Gay/etc (or even female), and they want to keep the campus "diverse" and "tolerant". This is actually a racist and unfair way of trying to solve racism and injustice. The fact alone that schools and employers ask for race (or "ethnicity" as they like call it), sex, sexual orientation and other nonsense labels is the problem: THESE THINGS SHOULDN'T MATTER AT ALL!
EDIT: I agree with Le_Bello. Pride parades and such are retarded, even insulting to an extent. If people gave the slightest shit about your sexual orientation, then just let them ask. You don't see straight people making "Straight Awareness" events. In fact, that's part of the problem: People associate gays with this kind of things. I once went to a "Straight-Gay Alliance" meting, and the people in there kept harassing me and trying to label me, and jumped around like little girls making odd noises and drawing rainbows. It was definitely not a pleasant experience, but I've learned not to judge gays by those retards.
