Agreed Le Bello. I don't feel the need to partake in that as well. The prides, and parades etcetera are far too overwhelming.

I actually argued with my boyfriend about this. His argument was that people still get stabbed for being gay. I said people get stabbed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But "Wrong Place Wrong Time Pride Parade" doesn't have the same ring to it.

That and apparently all the in-fighting at recentish parades here in England. Apparently some people are "too gay for gay pride".

...So where does that put a guy like me?
Where we all should be: Not using sexual orientation as a way of describing people.

This issue reminds me of racism. People keep trying to feed schoolbooks and TV shows with "equality" by actually labeling people, looking something like: "Hey kids, look at these guys. One is black and the other is white, and they get along!". They want future generations to stop labeling people by race, and they try to accomplish that BY LABELING PEOPLE BY RACE. It's retarded, it pisses me off.

I think we should all drop this bullshit and just act normally. Schools like Harvard and MIT claim that they keep their campuses "diverse". What this means is that out of three students with a 4.0 GPA, two of which have higher SAT scores that the third one, the one with the low scores may actually have more chances of getting in, because he is Black/Asian/Hispanic/Gay/etc (or even female), and they want to keep the campus "diverse" and "tolerant". This is actually a racist and unfair way of trying to solve racism and injustice. The fact alone that schools and employers ask for race (or "ethnicity" as they like call it), sex, sexual orientation and other nonsense labels is the problem: THESE THINGS SHOULDN'T MATTER AT ALL!

EDIT: I agree with Le_Bello. Pride parades and such are retarded, even insulting to an extent. If people gave the slightest shit about your sexual orientation, then just let them ask. You don't see straight people making "Straight Awareness" events. In fact, that's part of the problem: People associate gays with this kind of things. I once went to a "Straight-Gay Alliance" meting, and the people in there kept harassing me and trying to label me, and jumped around like little girls making odd noises and drawing rainbows. It was definitely not a pleasant experience, but I've learned not to judge gays by those retards.

Yeah thats fair enough.

Ive always been kinda a goof when it comes to gay stuff. I like to test out new employees at times. Thier first or second day here, I will tell them "hey man....thursdays are gay thursdays round here. You dont like it, fuckin beat it". The reaction I get is always priceless.

Round the shop here I work with a bunch of really cool guys. So the joke round here is that "thursdays are gay day" we all pat each other asses and we can all laugh about it. Well all but 1 of us.

And Ive always really been like that. Gay people never bothered me. Cept for this one guy who saw me as a challenge and just would not leave me alone. It got old really fast. But he was all serious about it.

Anyway, Im sorry to clog up this thread with my straightness....LOL. Just curious bout stuffs and things.

I just normally stay away from the community because I don't feel the need to parade my sexuality. I'm just an 18 year boy who works at Hollister lol and I want it to stay like that.

That's the problem that some straight people have. They say they can "tolerate" gays just as long as they don't flaunt their sexuality.

Psh, straightness, gayness, it's all the same. On the next Gay Thursday, make sure to make the point that male gay sex is the manliest sex.

This is precisely my point - Sexuality is just an aspect of people. Do we have "I SLEEP NAKED" parades or "I PREFER VANILLA ICE CREAM" parades? No. (Though we should.)

Flaunting your sexuality is only going to annoy people. By that opinion, gay pride parades are anti-gay.
