So you're saying they're being hypocrites for saying they want DOA5 to tone down sex appeal and start anew?
What I'm saying is that the early screenshots looked fresh and different, almost like they were making a new game. Of course this was never going to be the case, but it did look (to me at least) like they were aiming at a whole new visual theme for the whole game: more realistic costumes, impressive lighting effects (neon and fire), more gritty feel to the game.
The latest trailers show total rehashes of old costumes, including ridiculous ones like LeiFang's black stockings costume. You can talk about choice and fanservice, I'm talking about taking the bold decisions to respect their game enough to push ahead with a new stylistic theme.
Look, the DOA girls are smoking hot, it's a USP, I've got no problem with it, in fact it's one of the reasons I got sucked into the game. What I'm saying is that if we're playing on the same old stages, playing the same old girls-prancing-about-in-underwear 'fights', it's just gonna feel like an old game, which is EXACTLY what I thought TN were steering away from. But having seen the latest trailers it seems I was wrong, it was just a marketing gimmick to try to rejuvenate interest in the series. So the same old people will buy it and it will be just another small fighting game scrapping for a small piece of the small pie.
I'm still gonna buy it, I just thought it could have been huge if they'd promoted it the way I thought they were gonna.
