So I just watched Okami-san and her seven companions. I can't be sure if it was created for young men or for teenage girls. I'm not sure who the intended audience was exactly but the possibility exists that I may have just devoured the Japanese equivalent of Archie's digest. That said, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Should I feel bad about that? Maybe. But I'm still gonna recommend it to you.

Finished watching that awhile back, I though it was pretty great, she reminded me of Taiga from Tora Dora. (which can only be a good thing)

I really liked the way the show balanced lighthearted, comical themes you might see in the usual kid-friendly shows with mature ones. Something about the way it was done and not fumbled seemed all the more commendable, dare I say intelligent, in my book. I liked how smart characters never mysteriously became stupid, I liked the open mockery of fan service and how characters would act sensibly in situations where I know they wouldn't on other shows.

For example: In a lot of animes a character's love interest suffering an amnesia producing head injury would result in them providing us with a "wacky" wince-inducing series of increasingly hard to maintain lies just to try to momentarily fulfill their fantasies in the creepiest and most selfish manner possible. Here it results in the line "We'd better get you to a hospital." Followed eventually by that character IN THE HOSPITAL. Thank you, Okami-san and her seven companions. I was so relieved when for once in my life I saw a character not be a moron and actually say the thing real people would say. Most shows have a character get all better when their memory suddenly jogs or when they get another bump on the head, here YOU GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Thank you again. I mean that.

I'd like to get into it more but I've already gone on a long time. Liked the show, the main characters were adorable and I'd like to see more of them. Real happy to see somebody else here has already seen and liked it, tip of my hat to you Ace. Between Okami-San (ect), Spice and Wolf and Baccano! I am convinced that Dengeki publishing has got to have a very nice line-up of properties and I'm impressed so far.
