SoulCast Episode #2: Esom

This tournament was amazing. I am so thankful I was able to attend. MLG knows how to run tournaments and I have zero complaints in my experience. Esom had gotten DQ'd one game in my match for being 15 mins late to our match, but the ref gave me the choice of letting it slide, so I did.

One suggestion I'd make would be to have back to back stations to eliminate sitting side by side allowing players to listen to joystick users inputs. I've been so far out of the tournament scene with playing at home, that I had forgotten how easy it was to listen to someones inputs and be ready to react. When I was playing Kayane and Keev for example (since they both use joysticks), it was so easy to tell when they were about to attack that it felt like an unfair advantage. MLG has plenty of resources to make this happen and they already do this with SC2 so it should be something easy for them to set up.

Another suggestion I'd make is for the spectator area's speakers to be sync'd up with the tournament area so that people watching the matches happening on the stage would hear their matches being called. That seemed to be a problem with people being late in reporting for their match.

MLG was the best tournament period despite some hitches in seeding or stage rules. To complain about anything if you weren't there is fucking stupid period. You shouldn't even have a voice on the matter imo. If MLG continues to run the game in its circuit the community should be grateful especially when it comes to Calibur in a 2d gaming world.

So the tournament had some hitches, but I shouldn't say anything so that those hitches aren't there to begin with? Do I really need to go all the way to Columbus to realize that loser choose stage is a stupid rule? Do you see how stupid your logic is?

I need to spend hundreds of dollars and take vacation time to go to a MLG event or any other major tournament, and I'm not going to spend that time and money if they are doing something that I don't like.

And again, those hitches you mentioned could have easily not been there if not for the fact that MLG wanted to do things their way and run SCV like its Starcraft.

I stopped reading after page 1 because I have to say this. Fuck seeding. Okay? Its a tournament. Vegeta had to fight Goku in the first round, thats what happens. If you are gonna lose you are gonna lose. Get over your pride and realize that maybe EVERYONE doesn't want to fight Keev until they are in the top 8? Why should one person be treated specially. Fuck regional seeding. Losers are losers, winners are winners no matter where you are from or at. You enter to win, if you lose, it doesn't matter if a no name underdog beats you or a well known players does. So get the fuck over it and grow up people. Fuck seeding. Fair is fair, nothing is unfair about making the 2 people who traveled have to be in the same boat as people who didn't have to travel as far. Grow up.
