'sup I'm Wyde

Wyde

Fighting game life story below. I have the opportunity to introduce myself thoroughly, so I'll do so. =]

I'm an online warrior from England, as of picking up Super Street Fighter IV a couple of years ago. From there I broke into the closest thing to experienced real life opponents with my scrubby-as-hell Adon, and have grown as a player since. I've considered myself a major fan of fighting games for a long time before that though, being vitriolic best friends with the AI for about a decade beforehand, starting with Tekken 2. At present, I consider my "main" game to be Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and nearly a year of matches with its inconsistent-but-sometimes-tolerable netcode is something I feel has thickened my skin in terms of dealing with online play discrepancies and S-tier ridiculousness simultaneously.

Aside from Broken Destiny and the original Soulcalibur, I've been an avid follower of this series, so I was incredibly excited to learn of V coming into production. Despite both the contested and universally accepted shortcomings, I very much love the newest installment, and like many I am especially surprised with how smoothly online play runs, considering what came before it *coughIVcough*. I'm blatantly ingraining myself into the community surrounding the game so I can hopefully better my game via osmosis. I'm already on SRK and Neo Empire, but they obviously lack forums as dedicated to the game as here.

So how do you do, 8WayRun?

Welcome to 8WayRun!!
Glad to have you with us!

It seems like you have a bit of fight gamer blood in you.
You're going to fit right in around here.

The online netcode in this game is absolutely amazing.
I live in california but was able to play people from korea, indonesia and japan with barely any lag at all.

Good luck owning nerds online.

I may just see how connections with players outside of Europe work out, actually. It's worth a try, considering the sort of lag input I'm used to in other games.

I already like you. There's certainly enough skill around here for some to reach you via diffusion my friend. I wish you good luck and do try to play some of our other members online. It's worth a shot.
