I would fix the title in "Today's mainstream music sucks" - and this is old news, sadly good mainstream music died in the early 2000s. I hate hip hop, I hate house, I hate crap like Pitbull, Rihanna, LMFAO and this bs coming from America.
European music is still better: we have Nightwish and other epic bands. I listen mostly to 80s and 90s music, and my favourite bands of today, I hardly ever listen to the radio and I don't watch MTV since years now.

If you are referring to mainstream house, then I understand. There is much better sub-genres of House.

Rihanna was good in 08, before she sold out. And the whole Chris brown stunt was pure publicity, she used it to every advantage. Boosting her fame, ruining Chris brown's (who honestly isnt a bad artist, just not my type) and using gimmick after gimmick going more mainstream, lifting up more unoriginal untalented hacks like Minaj get support to bite off of. I mean. That stupid hoe song is/was going to be sung at the superbowl she said....Wow.
WTF is the real purpose of LMFAO? I cant see them as artists at all, they seemed to have just come out of no where trying to bring the internet society into mainstream. People like this put the classic timeless songs to shame. Kids will forget them and already have obessing over this shit. I hate Rap and hip hop. All exploitation of a real struggle only brining down that ethnic group more and more.

I hate today's house. Eletctro, minimal, and all the subgenres. House was great in the late 80s and 90s.
And yes Rihanna was good in 2007-2008, when she worked with Timbaland/Timberlake/Danja (great productions...but I guess it's all over) but now it's just ridiculous...
