Critical Edge: A Brief History of Banning...

First, since Namco didn't include a standard character for DJ, I say we take that as a hint that he wasn't intended for competitive play, but only to attract casual tekken players. I believe DJ is a CASUAL attraction, not a competitive one.

That being said, Daishi apparently said DJ was balanced.

Problem is, balanced for what game? Tekken or Soul Calibur?

Either way, the French have it right - I don't want tekken in my Calibur.

Its a waste of time to download a save file, which for reasons already stated, would probably fail.

I say we make a poll thread. The community is clearly split, and we should solve this shit before launch. Leader or no leader, a majority decision is the only way to tell. Of course, this poll will be filled with people who don't honestly understand tournament play, but nevertheless, a majority is a majority.

I agree with those of you who said CAS should be banned, that's my opinion.
Also, kind of liked the idea to bring Tekken fans over here, but then remembered what happened with Star Wars hordes at the beginning of the SCIV, at the end, it only left us a player called Oofmatic (Wait, was he here before SW, just kidding Oof).

But seriously, what character are we banning?... Oh right, no character, just a fighting style... really?

And how many Devil Jin players are in the world?... then, if we are lucky, 1/10 would buy SC5 to play with Devil Jin CAS, now, guessing the 20 players that buy SC5, how many of them will stay for competition?... It's just not an argument, in any case, if they would want to attract Tekken players to SC, they would make a game called Tekken x SC... Devil Jin CAS is a tribute to Harada, nothing else, plus, CAS characters looks ugly.

If we find out that DJ CAS is allowed in EVO wich I doubt just because of the logistic and no other game allows that, we might think about unbanning him.

Lol, I just remembered how I became a real fan of this game... Link from Zelda was the hook... But Link was on the game and he was banned from tournaments, I stayed because the game was so good, not because of Link, gosh, it sucks so much that we are discussing this, is not like we are arguing about Devil Jin, is Devil Jin CAS wich sucks for a real Devil Jin fan.

Also, are we allowing Ring in the game, I saw he is in the game?, lol

You guys can keep discussing this if you want, but it's a done issue for me since copying save files to other people's consoles doesn't work as I previously mentioned.

I'm moving on. I hope everyone else does the same.

Are you 100% sure of that? Because I know when copying save files between PS3's it'll just disable the ability to unlock trophies but any save data will work. Unless something's been changed that's what worked for Mortal Kombat 9 Save data between PS3s.

I really like Devil Jin.
Jin was my main in Tekken 3, so i would really like him to be legit, also because he may lure in some Tekken fans.

But alas it cannot be because Namco messed up by making him CaS exclusive. What a waste.

Only thing i can think of is ban him now to show Project Soul their fault in doing so.
If he becomes a character via patch or DLC, i could think about allowing him, not earlier.

Unless of course we say, DJ is more important that Hit- and Hurtbox-consistency which probably won't happen lol.

That's just my opinion though.
