Hate Speech: SOULCALIBUR V Party Special Report

At first, I was quite astonished to witness Hates, the idolized mastermind and embracer of all things SCV, fail to fully utilize the new critical meter system. >_>...But, if it was all in the noble aim of maintaining your violently acquired alias and, subsequently, the betterment of the community, then I commend ye and sing praises.

You selfless SoB :P

I would also argue that spending bar haphazardly isn't the best way to utilize it, either. I'm trying to figure out how I want to manage meter with Astaroth; his throw BEs have some added utility, but not a significant damage boost. BE 66K is steppable on block by at least a chunk of the cast, but it hits grounded and also rings out, etc etc. I kind of like his CE--looks like a solid 90 with his 22B followup--but if I'm doing that, I want to do it as a punisher...

All that to say I'm still pretty darn scrubby at all of it, but I like the potential variety I'm seeing. Characters like Algol will have even more intense variation in style depending on how or if people want to implement CE into their game.

Astaroth BE/CE snip
Ah, I forgot that Asta's BE options are rather limited and I didn't know his 66K BE was so risky, yikes. Though you did miss out on plenty a 22B BE opportunity iirc :P I'm curious though on your opinion of his CE, do you think it will actually have an impact in high-level play? Is it relatively easy to react to? The way I see it, they sort of designed themselves into a hole with the whole grab CE idea. It is unquestionably unbalanced to have to face a threat of an unreactable, unbreakable 90+ damage grab but the only way(as I see it) to balance that is to make it reactable, thus nullifying its utility outside of punishment(which non-grab CEs do just as well along with having the ability to combo, TC/TJ, aGI start-up, etc.).

It's understandable, I was just teasing. Excuse my ignorance but, what's this about Algol's CE? From the brief trailer I saw it seemed like his CE can hit you from anywhere on the stage and can be tacked on to combos. Are his BE options amazing?

P.S. My apologies for the off-topicness :)
