EGMi Cover Story for Soul Calibur V

I'd suggest Twitterbombing Daishi that we don't like the idea of characters intentionally being designed to be stronger or weaker. It's early enough in development that I think a strong feedback could change his mind.

BTW the problems with Tekken characters being the same is more system-based (throw animation, bound, movement) then character-based. SC shouldn't have that problem, though the meter stuff might lead to it, though in return it's much harder to balance.

Balance and Diversity are competing traits on the quality of fighting games (like an indifference curve). That's not saying you can't have a diverse, balanced game, but it is very difficult to do.

On one hand we had Tago saying at E3 that they were going to focus on balancing the game, but on the other hand, Odashima has the final say in designing the game, and given his track record with SC3 and SC4 balance, I'm not getting my hopes up.
If the gaming industry is anything like the movie industry, then this is wrong. In the movie industry, producers have the final say over directors. The director (the one who handles the design and style) can do whatever he wants, but if the producer (the one who handles where the MONEY comes from) says "no, you have to do it this way"... then thats it. Money = Power... at least in the movie industry.

I hope this
