PSN DOWN WTF?!1

Also remember that COMPROMISED is not the same as STOLEN. Compromised simply means they could have potentially been stolen, someone got close. At this point and time there are ZERO confirmed cases of credit card fraud reported by the credit card companies. Sure, people online have been saying their credit cards have been stolen, but the credit card companies are investigated and have found zero cases related to this PSN issue.

how many were verified by credit card companies though? that's the real question. fuck people and the he say she say bull shit. i need official quotes. there were many claims, but in this, not many if any were actually justified claims. thus far to my knowledge, credit card companies have gone on record saying there have been no fraudulent charges. you should still be aware. but that's always been the case. if you don't pay attention to your credit card statements or any of your bank accounts... you're a fuckin idiot. Not saying "you" persay. just saying people in general. also remember: credit card number - cvv code and or magnetic stripe = bullshit and worthless. (this was also within the written report Sony wrote to congress.)

ALSO. please remember. if a fraudulent charge has been made. most companies give you 30 ( through 60?) days to report it. within that time period if you let it be known. you'll get your money back, barely any questions asked if any. and you'll be okay. go past that deadline.. then you'll have a bit of a problem.

Today Sony admitted to congress that some information from all 77 million accounts had information straight up stolen, not compromised. But what bit of info was stolen? Is it actually something serious?

With encrypted credit card numbers and no CVV2/CID codes they can't do much. And reality is not like in the movies; any encryption can't just be broken given a few hours/days. Also, banks all over the place report nothing out of the ordinary. Account password were hashed so neither Sony nor the hackers have those. So basically, the hackers know my name and where I live, but that's already public info.
