Bin Laden is DEAD!

This is strictly your opinion. You cant just say that america killed over 500 thousand people in the name of getting one man as if it was fact, it simply isn't. You forget one of the main reasons for the war in Iraq was the mass genocide of the Iraqi people by Saddam Hussein. He is responsible for close to a MILLION deaths of his own people just like Manjitou said.

oh i am certainly not stating that as a fact. in fact if you reread what you quoted from me, you will see that i directly called it bullshit. i was simply trying to explain how one could argue that point, and why some people may perceive it that way.

also i'd like to point out that when other nations are engaged in genocide...hutus-tutsis...israeli-palestinian...others that i don't feel like looking up...the united states has never felt a need to step in. hell we didn't even get involved with the nazi genocide until it became a clear threat to our allies and eventually our own nation. why should this be any different.

i'd also like to point out that it is important to look at everything from multiple angles. saddam was, in fact, killing a faction of his own people, who were trying to break away from iraq and form their own nation and take a majority of his resources with them.

i can think of another country that, when the southern half tried to break away and form a new nation and take a majority of resources with them, waged the bloodiest war in their entire history to preserve the unity of the nation. can you?

That was just an excuse the the US government used to justify the Invasion of Iraq. The main reason to go in to Iraq was not for retribution of Saddam's crimes against his people, but because the US government need to hold someone accountable, to not only satisfy the American public, but to have more power. This also lead to civil right being infringe upon.

*Me heading into work Monday*

CPL Toothpick: So we finally got Osama. Obama gave the order to move in and they killed him on sight.

Me: Dawg, fo real? Ooh-rah recon devil dogs.

Cpl Toothpick: Nah, the Squids got 'em. Navy Seals stormed his compound.

Me: What!? There's no water in the caves of the Middle East.

Cpl Toothpick: Dude, they found him in his billion dollar compound sleeping. Where've you been at all weekend, living under a rock?

Me: Man, they told me he's been hiding under some rock for 9 years now! I was trying to help!

Cpl Toothpick: *Face smack*

And that's what happened when I went in to work to day. I was actually under some strippers ass but yeah... >.>

Congrats to the hide and seek champion. You broke a world record. To bad Guinness won't be able to get your picture for there book, have a high caliber round in your skull and all...

BTW, our military didn't just kill thousands of suspected/alleged/confirmed terrorist and possibly/probably/definitely a few hundred innocent civilians and...hell even our own units...for ONE MAN!

...we did it for two. We hung Sadam in Guantanamo, remember?

In all seriousness, don't act like France, Britain, and a bunch of other UN countries didn't help in the joint reprogramming of two countries. Your prime minister is at much blame as are US Senate, if not more. Least we had "They killed thousands in New York, VA, and PA" excuse.

What's France's and Canada's excuse? "America made us do it?" Please...

Comparing the North to Saddam is a huge stretch specially since there was the issue of slavery in the midst, and the fact that mass murder of civilians wasn't commonplace.
BUT you do make a good point. The US has seldom stepped in when genocide was occurring.

Someone though has to step in when these things happen. It should be a united front of nations like the UN but if they don't, or if they retreat halfway through you get other Rwanda's.

Just FYI im not pro-war lol Im actually very against it even though it doesn't seem so. I just believe in retribution and not standing idly when there is a wrong at hand.

Even though It might be true to a point this is your opinion Eli. I am one to have hope that not all of the US government is that corrupt. Coming from a country where the vast majority of people in power bend towards corruption I have to believe that a country with so many more liberties and rights hold some kind of value in their word. It might be naive but it is me.
