SUPER Street Fighter IV! Official Discussion

Hey guys, I am a noob when it comes to 2D games so I am wondering which SF4 character would be the best to start off with if I want to learn the fundamentals? In addition, which of the new SF4 characters is the easiest to start off with? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Personally, i think starting off with an easy character will only make you hit the learning curve harder than if you were to start off with a more difficult character.

Now, nobody knows anything really about Super Street Fighter 4 besides a couple of the new characters; but out of the existing roster, i hear that Rufus is a relatively easy character to start off with, funnily enough...
 
If you're new, start with someone like Ryu who has basic tools within the system. Solid reversal, zoning with fireballs, useful normals, etc. Other characters have more prominent strengths that can be practiced, but working around their weaknesses becomes more complex.

Although personally, I'd just say play a game where you don't have to turtle up all match. X_X
 
Definitely stay away from Bison if you dislike turtling, at least from the begining anyway. He was my first and then from him over to Seth. Needless to say i never broke the habit of turtling, ever.
