Spartan has a point. I don't know why, but this reminds of that commercial where delivery men running the world... they would perform a more efficient job than those asstards in the Congress and Senate.

Yeah, UPS never screws anything up.Spartan has a point. I don't know why, but this reminds of that commercial where delivery men running the world... they would perform a more efficient job than those asstards in the Congress and Senate.
And we could have paid for several wars in Iraq already under Obama. Dont start saying all of this is Bush's fault. The guy was doing just fine until he began caving into to the demands of the left. Its interesting that people slam on consrvatives and point to Bush as an example of what not to do when the reality of it is that during his last term he was more liberal than conservative with his economic policies.
Ahhh......And you say I'm brainwashed.I didn't hear the left clamoring for an oil war.
Sorry. I didn't hear the left applauding his repealing of protection rights for endangered species or relaxing of environmental standards. I don't really comprehend what was so liberal about tax cuts for the rich, deregulation of the market and deficit spending. It seems to me you need "some help figuring this out", but you don't really think you need any. You've got your mind made up that conservatism makes no mistakes and any mistakes a conservative can make are simply due to a weakness to comply to the conservative message. That's some scary shit. It sounds like something a communist official or religious inquisitor would say. And it doesn't really leave any room for reason. The reason most people are slamming on the republicans right now from the blogs to the polls is that they aren't half as brainwashed as you are.
I don't know who you've been reading/listening to (or who did these polls) (or how) (or even what they claim the top issues are right now) but when the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Rep. Tom Cole, says "It's time to change or Die." I don't think things are as rosy as you've lead yourself to believe they are.And as far as the polls are concerned the Reps. are leading in 8 of the top 10 issues right now. Obama's approval is starting to dive. So apparently liberal socialism isn't catching on like you would like.
Mike Murphy said:"the numbers tell a clear story; the demographics of America are changing in a way that is deadly for the Republican Party as it exists today. A GOP ice age is on the way."
Short answer? Personal beliefs? Long answer: I'm a little busy to get into this philosophical thesis at the moment but if you want a blanket term or a series of them like "a love of god, country, apple pie and mud in yer' eye huuuurah!" You're not going to get them. It's not like you can say what makes a conservative a conservative and a liberal a liberal so easily unless you've found some arcane barometer that can quantify the exact number of some conservative or liberal molecules within an individual. There's multiple breeds of each genus with cross pollination occurring across the spectrum. For instance, I'd say your major branches of the republican party are economic (The Capitalist), social (The Ideologue) and religious (The Zionist/Evangelist). And a person could be say an economic conservative and a social liberal. It's much easier to say "this is a liberal or conservative policy" than "this is a liberal or conservative person". If you'd care to volunteer a list, be my guest. I don't tend to see things in such simplistic terms however. But here is a little question for you. What makes a liberal a liberal? And what makes a conservative a conservative?
Wait...did you see what I just did there? I made a stupid remark with the whole socialism thing. You never claimed that you wanted socialism.
Did I ever say Consrvatism is perfect? No.
