i don't think i would pay for any site on the internet.

i mean some are super useful, some are just plain fun, but life was fine before the internet's rise in popularity (i'm old enough to remember it fairly well, sigh), and if everything suddenly cost something, i wouldn't miss it too bad. the main sites that are really useful from a knowledge standpoint are free by nature-- wikipedia, and university sites.

YouTube will NEVER go pay-to-use. There are so many USERS on YouTube that it's marketability is based completely on it's USERBASE and advertising. If you are one of the biggest websites on the net, you can name pretty much ANY price for advertisers. What we WILL probably see on YouTube is interstisial advertising (think the advertising on videos for GameTrailers). Thats how they will stay afloat.
