T6BR tier list

first, whoever says DEVIL JIN is a viable fall back needs to STOP, DJ is so bad and stupid it isn't even funny, so SHIN you need to eat more lasers yourself and stick with Hwoarang.

2nd everyone should play Hwoarang lol

Did DJ get gimped that much? I know he can't really get the same damage off hellsweeps anymore, guessing he's the weakest Mishima now? Oh well, it's online and he has a hellsweep period, mash that shit harder lol.

You guys shouldn't take online matchups so seriously, you know.

====== DOUBLE POST AUTO-MERGE ======
Jin doesn't have u/f+4,4,4,4. Only Kazuya does. I fall for it every single time.

Missed this one lol. I think you need to worry less about reading stuff on forums if this is the case, and go back to just trying to relearn fighters from the ground up. A move like this, I mean there's no trick to it. It goes low after the second hit, you block low and punish.

Now if ONLINE is screwing you up, then that's one thing. But if you eat this offline, stop trying to analyze stuff. You just need to figure out how to get some kind of hand eye coordination going, there's nothing to figure out about a move like this. You just block it and hit him back. Forum posts have useful info sometimes, but they're not gonna push the buttons for you.

First off, I hate Devil Jin with a passion. Secondly, I can't Crouch Dash worth beans. Don't know how. Been trying since Tekken 3, still can't do it.

I'm not liking Bruce all that much. Too many of his juggles are difficult for me to pull off. Julia I'm not interested in. Don't like Bob or Hwoarang. Not finding Raven all that interesting either.

Jin doesn't have u/f+4,4,4,4. Only Kazuya does. I fall for it every single time. Not really interested in playing Kazuya, either. And I've been told to stay clear of Heihachi.

Tried playing Leo... 94 losses, 0 wins. I did say earlier in this thread that I don't even know where to begin with the character. The 4 moves listed in the thread helped, but that's not enough to go anywhere with her. The Tekken Zaibatsu info isn't helping me either.

Tried Lili, found her somewhat interesting, but... meh, I'd rather play someone else.

I sit in practice mode, practicing moves and combos until I can get them off well-enough. I even improv my combos and memorize those to try out. I get a good mastery on the move list before I take the character into battle. I don't pick up everything from the character via the practice mode, but I try to get a firm grip of some basic stuff. As I hope to improve, I'll go back into the practice and further my skill with the character. Of course, that really isn't happening.

In an actual fight, in a real true fight, it all falls apart. If I try to be offensive and start the battle off with Jin's d/f+1, I eat a counter hit. I try Jin's 2, 4, I lose out to some other poke. Try 1+2, I whiff it. Can't get 1, d+3,4 off. b+1,1,2 is risky as is b+1,2. Not sure what else I can start with. CD+2? Usually its interrupted. As an opening round move, it's about the only CD I can get off at the start of a match. As for the rest of the match, well I have dozens of replays and I upload new ones regularly, you only need to check my profile and download the 3 new ones I put up daily. You can see what goes wrong there.

Not sure what else to say. If Jin is bunk for me, and the above roster I mentioned aren't ones that I like or enjoy playing, then suggest another character for me to try. I'm willing and able to try and improve in some way or fashion and I'm not afraid to experiment or try a new character. But there are several characters in Tekken that I'm keenly not interested in playing.

So don't bother mentioning these guys: Feng Wei, Roger Jr. Eddy Gordo, Christie, Mokujin, Jack, Lars, Alisa, Steve, Paul, Law, Ganryu, and Wang.

I noticed your av has Kilik (who I also use in SC). Leo and Feng are your two closest bets to Kilik "feel-wise", but none of them have Kilik's long-ish range style.

Whats the Online etiquette for playing this?

I know throws is one thing, not to be spammed cuz of the online lag.
what about lows? and spamming out 10 hit "combos"?

hmm. i don't think you're getting the most out of practice mode. it's not only for memorizing input commands and juggles, but for improving your timing and your anti-character knowledge (including your own character).

so if you are losing to Kaz's u/f+4,4,4,4 every time, as you say, then the solution is to select him as your practice mode opponent, go into defensive training, and have the cpu do that move while you block. over and over until you don't even need to think about it. that move is very visible and has no mixup, so this shouldn't be a difficult or very lengthy exercise at all.

personally, i don't think attacking at the beginning of the round is a very good strategy. that aside, i think you might be a little late in your execution if 2,4 and d/f+1 are losing to other things. but there is a general problem with all the options you listed-- they all lose to a b,b~d/b. so from your description it's hard to tell why these moves aren't working for you. how often do you choose a defensive measure at the start of a round?

in general, from your post it sounds like you need to focus on the application of your move set (what move to use in which situation), your defence, and anti-character knowledge.

as far as characters to use, you have to use one that suits your style of play, or one that you just like in a more personal way. Jin is a solid overall character with a great 10f punisher in 2,4 , but i don't think he's exceptional in any one area. here's a link to understanding some of Jin's moves in T6:BR

if aggression is your thing, you might find success with Nina or Anna. they're fast poke characters, as i'm sure you know. otherwise, Bryan is a good character too, and Lee as well. i'd say Lee and Anna are the simplest of these. it's hard to suggest a new character tho, since you haven't given any criteria other than "not Jin" ;-)

EDIT: here's a very thorough and awesome breakdown of Jin:
