Not only did Pepsi consistently beat Coke in multiple batteries of blind taste tests, but new coke, which was modelled *after* Pepsi also beat coke classic in blind taste tests.

Oh, I guess the Coke II thing was later.

I still wish Snopes would cite their sources better so I could see the results of these blind taste tests without looking through all 5 sources they list. Footnotes, use them.

Coke is definitely better, there is a reason Pepsi has been working hard to try and get Cokes formula.

Not really. That's just something that coke would like you to believe. Research by psychologists, ad agencies and cola companies proves that in a blind taste test 9 out of 10 people will pick pepsi over coke. Remember the pepsi challenge? It's for real. Pepsi just tastes better, but if you ask people to pick a cola with the labels the majority will choose coke? Why? They have the image.

You're not picking the cola that tastes better, you're picking the cola you think tastes better based upon an emotional reaction, not a logical or even a gustatory one. Brainscans have revealed how it happens and Lindstrom extrapolates upon how the subconscious affects purchasing.

As a kid I drank both and I honestly prefer the taste of pepsi, did before I ever read Buyology. Of course RC cola actually tastes better than the other two, it uses real sugar which results in a cleaner, less syrupy flavor.

I picked coke because 1.) I grew up drinking it and 2.) They're the first soda to put VANILLA in it. :)
That drink was top tier!!!!
