OnLive: Games on Demand

ya i just saw this thing on yahoo news and its pretty amazing that they can play games in HD like crysis by streaming n shit. they said it'll be realease this winter... but who knows how the consumer may feel about it.

Up to and until the moment I try this myself I'm calling bullshit on just about everything they're advertising. Really, 80ms+ under ideal conditions to play a singleplayer game? No thanks. Just imagining how retarded it would be playing an online game through this service is giving me a headache.

But I'm consistently surprised by the shit console gamers put up with. If they can keep it under 100ms for most people playing singleplayer games then I'd be surprised if the majority gave a shit. On the other hand, anything over 150ms and they're not going to last 3 weeks.

RIP Playstation Nintendo etc

Naw this is another gimmick piece of crap. Its prolly from the same guy who was gunna realease the system that never came out before this generation of console came out. Consoles provide more then games these days plus having a "streaming game" sounds like a horrible Idea. Loading, Loading, Loading, Loading........ Comon, this isnt gunna work, at least for now.

Would it be? I'm under the impression all the processing is done on their end, and you're just fed the video like Cable TV.

There should be zero loading loading loading.

The only downside is if you have a bad ping or high packet loss even 'playing offline' (so to speak) will feel like a laggy online game cuz input delay.
