Static HUD bars slowly killing my HD tv's

I love the High Def experience; love it. Yet there is alway one glaring problem with HUDs. HUDs usually stay in one place all the time, and that kills my TV. It starts to burn into them leaving a ghosting look to games that are not the game I played.

I was hoping that in the future fighting games could make the bars disappear, and only reappear for a short time when an actual change happens. "It will be up to the player to remember the status of their character, and opponent." The biggest problem is the health bar. So i was thinking about the health bar, and how that is prime real estate in a fighting game.

How about moving the health bar to a small bar over the players head? It could appear, and disappear as health was filled or depleted? This would also open up hud space for bars to indicate other things, BUT those bars should appear, and disappear as they change.

Super moves make the hud disappear to see all the action so they should not be problem. So
how about it?

Heh thats a cool contrast. I am concerned about tv burnout due to the hud always staying in one spot.
I also gave a few suggestions on solving the issue.

The problems you complain about are non-existent in current generation HDTVs. Any TV technology that has an issue with burn in (like plasma) now have something called "pixel orbiting". What it does is every few seconds it shifts the image a few pixels around the screen... Basically it refreshes the image and prevents burn in. Time to get a new TV.

Also... wrong section. Thread moved.
