Repairing a scratched CD ?

. . . so , my CD calibur has been scratched like shiet .

and it won't really get read by my xbox , and if it does , it can't read certain customization parts of customized characters .

anything that loads with stages and REGULAR non-customized (1P and 2P) characters work nicely ,

however if a customized character gets loaded , there is a big chance that i will get and error .
i am lucky if i am able to play under such conditions . 8/10 chance that this always happens .

so , anyone know of any nice methods of repairing a scratched disc ?

i've tried the toothpaste method about 3 times , no luck . . .
any other methods that would seem to work ?

i don't know which product i should buy , or which homemade method i should try ,
someone help me out ? :P

i prefer homemade methods btw .

and if you give me any methods i will post a testimony . thanks ;P

If the scratch is on top, you can scribble permanent marker over the scratch and that will work in most cases.

Otherwise, I find SC in game bins for 10-15 bucks all the time.

Take better care of your shit.

Don't have any home methods but I do know that Hollywood video used to resurface discs for like $2. Maybe you can find another place like that and they can do it for you. Otherwise like was said above you can find them for like $15 used.

Back when i was crazy about protecting my scratched up PS1 and DC games, i bought something called D_Skins. Pretty much, they were a plastic layer that goes around your disc. It actually help your system read discs better as well. You can usually find them at like Best Buy, Radioshack or Walmart (If they still sell them by you. :p).

Also, don't use any home purchased Disc Doctors (Resurfacers). If not done properly, it will ruin your game.
