Please forgive me for I am half computer retarded.

A few months ago when I watched videos on youtube and such, there is a almost full second of delay between what Im watching and the sound.

I have tried different browsers, updating windows, flash, etc etc etc. Doesnt matter what quality of vid I watch but the higher the quality the worse it is. It didnt always used to be like this. It used to work just fine.

Can someone help me out?

Sound comes first?
Is your computer old?
Does this happen even at the lowest quality?
Something may be taking up the processor time, have you installed anything new (virus checker, etc) that would affect it?

Yes, sound comes first

My PC is prolly 4 years old.

If I put the vid on 240 quality, is pretty close, but still kinda off. And the picture is horrible!!

Ive always had norton installed, ANd I installed system mechanic bout a month ago, but its been doing it way before that.

This is pretty frustrating, Im pretty limited on what I can do bout fixing things. All I really know how to do is update things. The only programs that run in the back ground is norton. I purposly dont run anything else for maximum speed of my PC. Help me obi wan kenobi, your my only hope!!

Maybe computer is gettin old but somethin must have made it start to do that (unless they changed somethin on YouTube).
If you increase the RAM it may run better.
Norton is defragin your drive and cleanin it up (automatically)?
I use Norton too...

Honestly Im not 100% sure what norton does. I know it acts like a firewall but I dont think it defrags. Ima get more RAM over the weekend and see what that does.
