Missing/Incorrect colors on monitor

Ok finally got my new pc up and running over Saturday.

But I've run into a small problem, the Monitor is not displaying correct colors or it looks like its missing some.
For example whenever I try to change the Red, it seems non-existent while Green is now a shade of yellow. Blue being the only one I can change around.

Video card is an ATI Radeon HD 3400 series
Monitor is a Sony Trinitron (Multiscan 200ES)

Any help correcting it or confirmation that I need a new monitor would be nice

It sounds to me like your monitor is shot. The best way to confirm it is to hook up another device to it and if does the same thing its def a clunker. If it works fine with a different computer hooked up to it then you have a shot video card, when my GeForce 6800 died on me it did something similar. But you have a CRT and thats USUALLY how you know they're shot.

Jaxel knows alot when it comes to this sorta thing, i wouldn't do anything until he at least gives ya his opinion.

in the meantime i highly recommend BenQ monitors. They're easily the best bang for the buck.
