Favourite Fighting Games beside SC

What are your favourite current generation 2D or 3D fighting games beside SC and why? Do they emphasize long combos or juggling? Do they have more or fewer moves per character than SCV?

Of the current generation fighting games, I have only tried SCV and SSFIV AE, and I have to say I love SCV more than SSFIV AE because SCV has more moves per character and crispier graphics. In SSFIV AE, I find myself jump kicking and low kicking a lot in the arcade mode because their damage is comparable if not higher than many of the character specific moves. Maybe someone who plays SF can enlighten the SF novice in me.

<3 Skullgirls. It's very nearly my ideal fighting game and I agree with pretty much every design decision to a tee.

SC is still my favorite series from a gameplay perspective, but my other faves are DOA and Blazblue, DOA because of the simple-yet-complex controls that feel somewhat similar to SC (the service is a nice bonus), while BB has a good story, diverse-yet-likeable cast that all play uniquely, and a bitching soundtrack.

Damage isn't everything in 2D. The most important thing is the ability to control space.
