I think people wants "new" what they don't want is new at the price of sacrificing/replacing old. People complains about younger versions of old characters but no one complains about actual new characters. Also, I don't think people minds about palette swaps or mimics, what people hates is when...

Guilty Gear failed hard into bringing new characters more tan anyone else. IMO of course. Too few new characters and one or two are already confirmed to be DLC

Well, I wish I was wrong XDDD but until now every fighting game seems to have that kind of advertisement, they start with 2-3 new characters, then...almost everyone else is and old one.

My bet is we are almost done with new characters, may be a couple more remains only and one of them will be the boss. From now Its going to be mostly old characters. May be we will see a huge design development in some of them though.

Actually Its the oposite, I'm a huge fan of creating orinal characters, sometimes I do a carácter from other franchise but the proportion is like 19 originals 1 cameo out of 20 characters and I can expend hours making them.
