    Mortal Kombat (2011)

A large part of the reason people are jumping on the nerfs, is because they think they're supposed to, because that's what the "cool kids" do. This is largely an SRK phenomenon though. I wish SC5 would take the MK approach, as it's harder to balance out a fighter when you don't have the...

I thought Test Your Might was the "real" MK site anyways?

    Obligitory Animes Thread

The sad thing is that Korean outsourcing is hurting the Japanese industry in the long-term, it's robbing Japan of its "farm system" so to speak. This means we're probably going to see some awesome stuff coming out of Korea though, so it's not all bad.

When are you going to have to say "There are too many fighting games"?

I would pay $200 for Final Shodown. Hell, I'd even cosplay if I had to, even if I'd hate every damn minute of it. Skullgirls isn't going to be for me, those types of games never are. What's surprising me is that I felt BBCS was crap, but BBCS2 seems to be at least decent.

    Mortal Kombat (2011)

Because those things were stupid, or they know something we don't yet. I'm just tired of the SRK-tards whining about nerfs, when some nerfs make perfect sense. If you buff everyone up to stupid tier, you end up with a stupid game. Imagine SC4 if every character was as dumb as Hilde- would be...

Petition to get Soul Calibur V on GGPO

Gotta remember the timeframe. When SC4 came out, PS3 owners had no fighting game to compare it to, and the 360 was unproven as a FG console, and only had DOA and VF, and DOA wasn't respected and VF only a small lucky few played. So people didn't know to yell about the online. With Tekken it...

Petition to get Soul Calibur V on GGPO

The same reason. I see Tekken 6 quality as the floor of what we'll get, so I'm not too worried (it's average netcode, and with SC's popularity you should be able to get good matches for months) I want better though.

    8WAYRUN Members Picture Thread

I'd feel kinda guilty about entering a tourney at an anime con personally. I did play a little SC there, but mostly to kill time between stuff. So rusty though. I think I might have played you guys briefly. That said, last time I ever hit up north, things fell apart with the ppl I was...

Petition to get Soul Calibur V on GGPO

Tekken netcode is acceptable at 4 bars and good at 5, SC4-like at 3, unplayable at 1-2. That said, I'd be fine with Tekken's netcode, if the matchmaking is better. VF5 netcode > GGPO for 3D fighters, hoping netcode is at that standard. GGPO isn't going to happen, systems aren't powerful enough.

Best Fighting Game Except Soul Calibur

Mixups? Tekken does have a bit of a turtling problem, but it's only at high level I think when people know how to evade well and cancel evades and backdashes frequently along with react throw breaking (thankfully you can't do this online). I still think for online fighters on the PS3 it's the...

When are you going to have to say "There are too many fighting games"?

Game quality and sales aren't correlated that much when it comes to fighters. Otherwise VF would have sold a lot better, and Marvel wouldn't have sold that well.

When are you going to have to say "There are too many fighting games"?

Well, I think there are too many of certain types of fighters. Specifically, the Arcsys/dojin genre (Melty, AH3, Blazblue, all those lame dojin fighters that ripoff the games I mentioned). I don't think the 3d genre is oversatured. We've just had 1 VF, 1 Tekken, and 1 SC so far this gen, and...

    Soulcalibur Announcement Coming May 11th?

Yeah, I've never liked the rampant misogyny of SRK. Then again, SC has always seemed to be the series that girls like to play, so maybe the community is more accepting? I'm hoping for a beastly Mina in SCV myself, it's about time that she's good again.

    PSN DOWN WTF?!1

No, it's an indy PC game. Really f'in awesome. The catch to the game is that the quests are time-limited, and failing them has consequences. If it says orcs are raiding, and you don't kill the orcs quick enough, they raid the town, kill folks, and then their kin may get upset and go renegade...

    PSN DOWN WTF?!1

If you like Diablo- try Din's Curse. It's a really awesome twist on Diablo- I put over 100 hours into that. Really highly recommended.

    Mortal Kombat (2011)

I'm hoping Sheeva isn't shit- I think she's got some tools at least at first glance. Hopefully if she's lacking NRS will buff her grab/teleport stomp damage.

    Mortal Kombat (2011)

We won't know how good it is competitively until it's released. I think they are going to be making a serious effort though. Most fighting games really aren't that good competitively- it's rare for one to actually be good.

Best Fighting Game Except Soul Calibur

VF is probably the game with the least amount of blocking , as evading/throwing are VERY important. Of course, knowing when to block is very important still. You can't win by not blocking.

I might give Sheeva or Jax a shot, maybe Sindel.

Arcana Heart 3: Coming to US on PSN

It's not the 5th anymore, it's the 19th, which means 90% of the people who would have bought it won't, because they'll get MK instead. (the rest already imported)
