The company of champions makes the game harder by increasing the damage dealt by enemies along with the health they have; essentially giving players a New Game + feel, without the need to play through the entire game to do so. Also someone told me that you can't summon help either.

Haha, idk. What I do know is that pretty much everything is viable in this game. Just find a moveset you like and you can make it work. For me, I use a shortsword. I really liked the Longsword in DkS 1 and they changed the LS moveset in this game. The Shortsword has a moveset similar to the one...
