No, a custom character with the Brown/Red alt colour. Custom colour edits would be pretty cool too though I guess. When you use a custom, it'll remember which colour/outfit you had for it.

So by going into the eshop and searching "Smash Update", you can download the day one patch required for online play. I reckon it's Nintendo's way of de-stressing the servers on launch. Best to do ASAP to save yourself time later on methinks.
