I was actually thinking of switching completely to PS3 because I'm sick of having two different consoles, and I need a bluray player. But this is making me reconsider. Also you can't change your PSN name and I hate mine, and I already bought stuff on it.

The charging cable that comes with the PS3 is way too short, that's why I can't "charge and play" like I do with my 360 controller. I've been charging it in my 360 like ShenYu. The irony is delicious.

Do you have SSF4 already installed? Try deleting that and reinstalling SSF4 AE directly.
