Just stating facts man. I love playing Sieg for the fool that he is not the Hero people often thought he was. I was told by a friend at one point that the only reason he played Sieg was because he's the main hero. I couldn't help but chuckle.
Btw (rest in peace) in peace? A little redundant isn't it?
Rest in pieces is acceptable. I kind of Hope that if there is a new soulcalibur, that Siegfried is not in it. Keep the fighting style, but give it a new face. That would be amazing.
it's more or less the fact that Siegfried has found his redemption in soul calibur. After murdering his father, slaughtering countless innocents so that soul edge could "restore his father" Siegfried made It his personal duty to defeat NM once and for all in order to bring peace to Europe and bring peace he did.
being granted that royal pardon by Hilde (whether that's cannon or not) Siegfried feels that he's finally atoned for all his sins he committed as NM and finally brought justice to those he's wronged...but Sieg knows better than anyone...taking NM down isn't that easy
Btw ZER0, you do understand that Sieg killed his father before he even knew about Soul edge right? That alone can't be fixed and he didn't get this redemption that you speak of until the end of SC4. Plus being freed from Soul edge just to pick up Soul calibur kind of defeated the purpose of being freed in the first place.
Just so you know Soul Edge+Soulcalibur=Soul Edge Complete. Yes Soulcalibur is the final piece of Soul Edge that was altered by Algol to destroy itself. A sword of this nature cannot grant peace man. Either way, a Hero Siegfried is not. Just a fool that was controlled by two parts of the same sword. Wasn't really his own character until SCV.
Hell, all of this was evident in the intro of SCV and the story mode (or rather the lack there of) and even the character Elysium (aka Soulcalibur incarnate). Soulcalibur is just as evil as Soul Edge. Just in a different way. The self proclaimed hero of humanity way. Ain't nobody wanting a world made of crystals there bruh. Ever!
bruh I been playing this game since Soul Edge/Blade in EU. of course I would know that. Sieg used to be my main in SB...until NM came along.
He murdered his own father, unable to come to terms with his actions, he fell into insanity. He told himself time and again; someone else had killed his father and he believed his own lie so much he actually went out searching for his father's 'murderer'
it was then he happened upon Soul Edge...the weapon that told him if he collects enough souls, then SE would return his father and find the man who 'murdered' him. Sieg then went on a killing spree as NM...before long Sieg would eventually become disillusioned with NM and SE finally understood everything was a lie
sieg at this point could not only come to terms with finding out it was he who murdered his father, but the countless innocents slaughtered as NM...the guilt of it all drove Sieg to ensure nothing like this would happen to anyone ever again and vowed to stop NM...he sought the power of SC to do this since it was the only thing in the SC universe that could match SE and NM's power
after finally defeating NM and ridding him and SE from EU, Sieg finally found that piece he was looking and was willing to die since he feels he was responsible for all of NM's atrocities, however Hilde offered him a royal pardon and absolved him of all crimes, thus granted Sieg the redemption he desired and with NM, Sieg brought peace across the land...for 17 years
I love this games lore. So knowing this, you still consider Sieg a hero. I feel he was just more like the wrong guy at the right places and right times. He wasn't really saving anyone rather he was just doing things to redeem himself. I don't think wanting or getting forgiveness for your mistakes makes you a hero.
