It gets better. Hard majors pay off in the long run (chemistry major here).

I don't know how people can major in chemistry. But I was referring to how non-lucrative being a vet is. 8 years of school and debt for a career that doesn't pay that debt anytime soon.

Doesn't pay off? My aunt is a vet (grad from the University of Kentucky) and made some good $$$ back when she worked with horse.
