How people can play with the Arcade stick (joystick?) with Soul Calibur good is something I can never do. I honestly find the Xbox dpad easier than the PS3 Controller though the PS3 Controller isn't far behind in terms of ease.

i play a weird mix of pad and analog stick....idk why though @_@

I do the same as Cappuccino but I despise the Xbox d-pad. I will always use a third party controller for Xbox stuff. The D-pad for a 360 isn't even a d-pad, it's an analog stick with a cap on it to make it look the part.

I don't know how anyone can use anything other than PS3 d-pad. I've tried both stick and xbox pad and DNS seems impossible on both. I can't even get 8wr inputs consistently on xbox.

I guess I'll probably have to buy a converter or at least a third party controller because I usually don't get 8wr inputs super consistent like Carp said. Or I just get weird ass inputs like doing Pats 236K and I get 6K.

Yeah, I got a converter to play on xbox. Though watch out, a lot converters (afaik) seem to require that you own a wired xbox controller in order to make it work.

Do half your Pat 66Bs come out as 6Bs? That's what kept happening when I tried xbox pad Pat :/

that's weird, i've never had a problem w/ 8wr inputs on pad. guess im just used to it lol

The 66B becoming 6B example doesn't make much sense. How do you get a 6 input when 66 is a holding input? Are you sure you're double tapping then holding 6? Or are you just not holding 6 long enough when you don't double tap.
HolyCarp
HolyCarp
You can perform 66 inputs by double tapping and not holding to give yourself a two-frame start up, or to buffer 66B from blockstun when you want to use it as an i22 punisher. As long as you hit the second 6 and the B at the same time it shouldn't matter. But xbox wasn't having any of that.

You have to double and and hold after the second tap. More consistent that way.

That's how you 8wr buffered in SCIV.

I don't wanna lose frames on all my 8wr attacks though, especially when Pat's 66B is such a good whiff punisher.

You won't lose frames by just making sure you're still holding 6 when you press B. Just don't let go of 6 after the second tap. I've been trying to stay about for a while. It looks like this 6(6)B. You hold after the second tap like every other FG ever. You can still press them at the same time just don't release 6 when you do.

But I don't release 6 after the second tap lol.
Pretty sure my problem is that I expect the d-pad to be more sensitive than it is so I end up pressing B before the second 6.

Remember that an Xbox d-pad is an analog stick with a large dead zone.

As far as I'm concerned, the whole xbox controller is a large dead zone.
