Slayer, you fiend! We will never bow to your progressive, open-minded ways! This is America, dammit! We don't like change. Especially changes that break down generations of bigotry and helps us to see and accept one another as we are. That's bullshit commie bullshit. And we'll have none of it here!
hey now! i dont like change either! but sometimes it is necessary in order to achieve a higher quality of life. tbh most of the time i honestly believe lack of change would be the best thing for not just myself, but for everyone, and i have very strong feelings about that. but there are rare cases where change is necessary, and where it is infact for the benefit of everyone.
even with my reactionary attitude, i believe that a certain level of government involvement that is required. the government can take care of the services required for a good standard of life - but i'll be damned if they tell me how i can live it. i dont mind high taxes - higher taxes = more and better services, but i dont think the government has any right to interfere in the personal lives of others either.
You... do know I was kidding, right? Just being silly, hope I didn't step on anyone's toes. Change is how the world works, and if something can't adapt to changes it can't thrive. It just stagnates. Changes aren't always good, but like you said sometimes they're necessary. And to be 100% clear, I was actually really happy to hear about this particular change.
i was glad to hear about this too. it means our american neighbors are making progress ;)
lol i know you were just kidding, i just tend to be an overly serious person >.< sorry about that!
honestly though when change ISNT good(for example, this is a good change, but say the XBOX ONE DRM was a bad change) i fight them tooth and nail, and at any cost to myself.
And I agree with your second post, too. Except for the part about not minding high taxes. I understand why they're necessary, but I'll never not mind them. :p Also, sorry for calling you a fiend lol.
haha hey i didnt take offense to that ;) i knew you were just kidding.
but yes the reason FOR taxes is the reason why i dont mind them high - think of public funds and social programs as a safety net incase something should go horribly wrong in your life(frequent thing for my family XD) the only time that is bad is when it stops going towards the programs and starts going in politicians pockets.
its like somebody is paying taxes right now so that we can make it back on our feet. but once we're back on our feet, we'll be paying taxes just like they did, so that we can return the favor to somebody else. sort of like a you scratch my back, i scratch yours kind of idea.
Lol posted at the same moment practically. Glad you knew I was joking. Guess it was me who misunderstood XD
True, change can suck sometimes. I'm obviously not saying that blindly accepting every change is the was to go. I just wish people would keep a more open mind about each other is all :/
and actually we've been doing well for quite some time now, so we've probably helped a couple other people who went through similar situations to us simply by paying our taxes. so as a system while it may mean a little less personal money to spend, it also means you dont have to ever worry incase something bad ever happens because you'll be looked after.
yea and thats really the only downside to it. we get into fights with our politicians all the time over stuff like that, but honestly at least it gives people a reason to come together and use their voice for good. somebody has to keep the crooks in line, right?
Yup! Most of the time we're too busy obsessing over political parties to really come together for much. You kinda make me want to live in Canada lol. Not sure I could do with the cool weather, though. I've lived in Arizona all my life. I get chilly if it gets below 70 xD
And sorry for the crazy amount of alerts you got when you signed in, Kinetic! XD
