i see. i've never had disconnection issues except with certain people, but i know jargen understands how frustrating it can be. for me it was lack of a strong local community combined with other personal things about the game which i wont go into detail.

plus i dont really have anybody to be better than, since there's so few sieg players and even fewer who can use him well. another thing would be that the general matchup ignorance towards him wasnt helping me grow as a player. and i havent precisely gotten along well with people here as of late.

I'll admit switching to omega actually did freshen me up a little, and i find i get a little bit more enjoyment out of the game now than i did, but i still have that longing to whip out siegfried, and i just know that it wont do me any developmental good if i do.

then there's also my self education on programming because im trying to learn to develop my own games. this also is a big reason why i play games less and less. also most other modern fighters i find just dont appeal to me - i find i gravitate more towards RPGs, and even older games.

if you ever want to play a few though, just let me know. i dont mind hopping on for a little bit and doing a few sets with ya.

I feel you on the whole scene thing. I have a scene but I don't have a car so I can't drive an hour away to play. It's the main reason why I only go to majors.

I picked up NM but I just didn't have the drive to actually learn him. I just don't have the drive to play any character now. The only character I like playing is Ezio but I hate using him online.

Slayer_X64
heh honestly juece i wouldnt worry about the whole online thing. just pick your char, do your best, and laugh it off after. i dont think i've ever been disatisfied or salty from playing online in quite a long time once i started doing this. hell actually i've gotten quite a few good laughs.

online is a training tool really, for getting a grasp on how real humans act and such. its also a decent eniugh way to entertain yourself while you're bored. i get limited by lag all the time - sure its a pain in the ass but meh its all in good faith, so honestly idgaf if i lose to some bs, so long as i know i tried to do the right thing in that situation
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
that same mindset is also why i never had trouble blocking laglows in SCIV when i first went offline - because unlike most people i actually never stopped trying to block them.

really the only thing online has really taken from me is my block punishment ability. but im initially a sieg player, and block punishment isnt really big for him.
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
as an omega player because i only have to remember 2 punishes, i've pretty much got the muscle memory in place to punish just about anything - the only thing i cant ironically is slow lows - i can block them just fine, but i never got over this problem where i get suprised when i block a slow low, and instead mix my opponent up afterwards instead of punish the low.
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
and of course that suprise issue is a left over flaw of mine from SCIV - because i had enough practice reacting to and blocking the lows, however because it didnt matter online and i wouldnt block them half the time anyways, i could never react in time to punish them when i did block them.

Hmm I have an issue where I got spoiled with offline play. I want people to respect frames and since it's online it never happens. It also annoys me when I can't punish something I should be able to punish when I use Ezio. Though I should just stop giving a shit and just play to have fun instead of trying to have amazing matches.
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
lolol i dont respect frames offline at all until you start hitting me for it, especially because you can get away with so much more of that in this game compared to its predocessor. naturally this carries over into my online play which is also annoyingly more effective than it should be, which means i dont have to adapt due to the "fakeness" of my success.
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
but yes you should just have fun. i dont think its possible really, to have AMAZING matches online. that doesnt mean you cant have good matches however, i had fundamentally good matches even in the crappy netcode of SCIV.
Slayer_X64

generally you can also tell what the outcomes of something would be offline provided you have the experience to do so. its easy to catch both your and your opponents dirty little secrets. not much you can do though except keep it in mind for offline play.

Good point. I guess I'll try and get back into SC by trolling around giving no fucks.
