Yeah, Group B were the fastest(in a straight line) rally cars ever. Lots of people loved it. Group B got banned because it was deemed too dangerous though. So now there is Group A(WRC), S2000, and some other groups for people just starting out.
The best Group B cars were the Lanica S4 and the Peugeot 205 T16. S4 was faster but 205 was easier to manage. In Modern Group A it's pretty much "Your sponsor should provide you with a Citroen" Even though the cars are the same on the spec sheet, Citroen cars are just made better. Oh forgot to mention Group B started in 1982 and ended in 1987,
Blame the spectators for standing so close to the road drivers had to change their line. They would even stand in the middle of the road and then move to the sides when cars came by. Group B would have never been banned if there were safety rules for the spectators then.
Cool. I wish they did rally events in U.S and Canada but there aren't any roads suitable here. Plus U.S. rather watch that stupid rally-cross shit. Just watch Ken Block ram everyone off the road like a little kid on Forza.
Too bad the only rally game that's really any good is Richard Burns Rally and that game is almost 10 years old but still has the best physics of a rally game to date. GT's is half asses and FH's is a casual fest where you're going way to fast for an actual rally and the road is way too wide(about as wide as the whole highway in FH). RB actually featured real rally courses too. :D
I wish there was a rally game like Richard Burns but with a random course generator. That's what a rally game needs because once you learn the course too well you're defying rally. All they get is a recce and then they have to run the course.
