Although in classical Latin, it would not be pronounced "pa-chay". It's a hard C. The soft C is an Italian (or church Latin) pronunciation.

This is my 6th year of Latin and I just realized this. I know Ezio is Italian and all the pronunciation differences (pet peeve, really), but I heard Ezio say the phrase so much and knew what it meant. It just never clicked until now :/

A lot of Italian and Latin words are similar. They're just said differently. "Pace" is one of them.

But I mean aren't they both pah-chay?
