DEV TEST

Sounds interesting. Whats the plan? Don't forget that there are differences in both speed and length. For example a char with good stepping speed might be able to step strings that other chars cant, even though his step might be shorter.

This is gonna be good man. I just finished recording the results and a video to accompany it for other people to replicate to test. This will allow people to correct or confirm my results. The more people who replicate it, the better.

Alright, so there are, indeed, differences in speed and length when it comes to backstepping, but I haven't been able to find any differences in length when it comes to sidestepping. I did this by counting how many steps it takes for a couple characters to make one full revolution around a character. I couldn't detect any differences.

So I focused on the speed of the sidestep. And yes, there are definitely differences in the speed. Even how good a certain character's natural step vs their quick step is varied. I used what I call the Raphael A + BA test. Right after Raph does that attack, you immediately follow up with his 6B.

I found that the ability to step certain moves showed differences around i12 to i15 moves. However, it got tough finding workable moves around i12 and under, so the test could only go so far. The only vertical i11 I could think of was Cervy's aB, but that 'ish tracks like a motherfucker, so it's not a good move for the test. I need moves that are generally steppable.

I did try Cervy's move and no one could step it. Then I decided to see how much it tracks but just walking around him. The move hit EVERY time. But yea, I think this is very accurate at measuring stepping speed. However, the current results only measure stepping speed after getting hit. I need to (or someone else can) conduct another test on how fast a character can step after certain attacks.

I explain this in the video. For some reason, even when a move has the same amount of frames as another move, whether the character can step a certain move is varied.

Wait let me clarify. When a character's move has the same amount of negative frames on block as one of their other moves, whether they can step the same attack is varied.

OK, that's it. Lol.
