Well done RugiRoller, you're obviously just better at Dark Souls than me.
d_b, buddy, it was SO MUCH FUN.
So, it was nearing the time I had to set off for work, meaning I decided I'd clear out the post-boss room section, quit and be ready straight away when I got home.
Just waiting on the last big dude to die of poison when suddenly I got invaded. Of all the times. I was pissed.
Anyway this guy was WAY too strong, and I wanted to use as little Estus as I could, since you know, boss fight. So, to save time, I summoned a player phantom and Solaire, hoping they'd take him out while I finished off the big guy.
Anyway they did and then the guy I summoned said "If I help you beat O/S, will you help me?"
So yeah. Fuck it. Me, Qyablo and Solaire went in and murdered them to death. I WANTED to solo all the bosses, but they were there and I was short on time so I decided to give it a shot.
I didn't expect big results, but they were good at healing themselves and adapting, and suddenly it felt like I was in Sword Art Online or something, so I didn't mind at all.
But for reference, 2H Quelaags to beat Smough down, and then arrow-strafe Ornstein, using Que's fancy slashing backspin move to evade some of his more obvious things. Eventually we were all just lobbing fireballs at him. Poor guy,
I went in with a Divine Uchigatana +5 and Slashed Smough down while Ornstein was stuck behind a pillar that I kited him to. Then I stood beneath Ornstein cause all his attacks miss at close range except the Drop. You just need to plan ahead and this game is easy. Except for the Hyrda. Fuck the Hydras.
This is where I've been playing DS wrong. I've tried to get by without looking ahead, so I'm completely unprepared for anything, but I like it that way.
And yes, the Hydra was. Urgh. Well, the first one, the second was just long =/
The beauty of DkS and DeS lies in a naked run. When you know NOTHING ab enemies ahead. Its fun to learn what works and what doesnt (sometimes a bit of help is ok too.) As for the Hydras... talk to me about Bed of Chaos.
